Lights of Christmas!

One of our favorite family traditions is going to the "Lights of Christmas" at Warm Beach, which was neither warm nor very beach like:)
Here we are packed in ready to go.It snowed the whole time we were there, which made for a great atmosphere!Mina couldn't wait to see the teddy bear again (she remembered him form last year) The things kids get excited about:) Gotta love it!

Max liked him too!

A family pic in front of the "light" Christmas treeAnd the reason for the seasonAfter some hot chocolate it's off to see Santa!Look who made the listWait, which list is that? Naughty or Nice?:)
Papa and Max had a blastand Mina too of courseMina actually rode a horse this year! And loved it!"Bruce the Spruce" the talking Christmas tree. It's not as creepy as it looks:)Cute, cold kids!the fire pits were great, and a life saver.Max loved the "choo, choo"
Beautiful lightsMax got to meet frosty:)My handsome boys! I love them!

Happy Birthday to my Love!

Today is my babe's 32nd birthday! We celebrated Thursday night with a wonderful date night! Thanks for watching the kids Margie! I surprised John with a dinner at The Metropolitan Grill! (his favorite steak house)The food was amazing of course. It was a great nightSeattle was all decorated and beautiful! This morning the kids decorated a gingerbread house with Nani.It was more like a torture session for Max!All this candy and I CAN'T eat it? Yeah right!!Max found if you suck on the candy a little first, it sticks to the house better. The finished product.......Then we went to Azteca for a birthday lunch. John enjoyed. My parents got him a gift certificate to one his favorite cigar places (the Educated Cigar).Did you have fun honey?Tonight we plan to go to the Lights of Christmas (if the weather permits:)
I love you so much my Mine! Your a wonderful husband and father!Happy Birthday!

Thanks Mamaw!

Mamaw always sends Mina money for her birthday so she can pick what she wants. I thought she might like to see what Mina got with her money. It's "hooked on phonics" in case you can't tell. One is a pen that talks to you and teaches letters, colors, shapes, and patterns (most of which she knows but it's good reinforcement and a "different" way to learn) The other is like a little computer with books that also teach reading. She is really enjoying them:)
Thanks Mamaw! We love you!

Yo Ho Yo Ho

A pirate's life for Max!
Well he's officially a "big boy"!
Check out his big boy bed!We actually found a pirate bed on Craig's list!!
Well half of one anyway!I'm still working on the other half. It will have a pirate flag and a wood plank headboard with a real ship wheel that turns! And I might change the sails:)
I was putting off posting a picture of the unfinished product but this is definitely a work in progress. I'll post a finished picture too:) So far Max LOVES his bed and sleeps in it great!
