How does YOUR garden grow?

Well today we started what I have decided will be our families "Mother's Day tradition", The kids buy mommy some pretty flowers to plant in the yard and we plant our vegetable garden for the summer:) It was super fun! The kids picked their flowers out at Flower World last weekend
Here's the one Mina Picked (Pink, big shocker)and Max ( I think he had some help from Nani)and my Mom got me this great pot @ Costco last weekend for my birthday:)Thanks Mom! It's so pretty:)
Here's how the veggie garden startedYuck!
But a little of thisand A LOT of thisthrow in a few of theseand Voila! As you can see I still have plenty of space. There are some carrot seeds in there, along with my tomatoes, Red bell pepper (yum) and hot chili peppers (for salsa, also yum) and a Zucchini squash. Also my red leaf lettuce, I'm planning on putting in some romaine as soon as I go buy it:) I also have some pumpkin seeds to plant towards the end of July so the kids can grow their own pumpkins to carve:) I put in another blueberry bush I already have two but I hope to add in a few more:) I want to plant some Raspberries too, anyone got some starts I can have? Which leads to my post heading...
What should I add? What veggies do YOU grow? What have you had success with in the past?
I'm open to any and all gardening suggestions/advice you may have. I'm new to this:)
John and Mina also had a movie matinee todayThe Lion King! John's favorite Disney movie:)
Mina informed me that this is the scary cave where Scar lives. Gotta love it!
And then she set the table for her and Max for dinnerit's so cute I can hardly stand it!
it's good to be a mommy:)

What a great idea for a tradition. I'm afraid I won't be any help in your quest for what to plant. But I loved this post, especially your last comment. I've been feeling very much the same way. And that table setting and the picture of them at the table is pretty darn sweet.
